BLUE ÖYSTER CULT @ THE SABAN THEATER 3/10/17

The legendary Blue Öyster Cult gave an electrifying performance at The Saban Theater in Beverly Hills. The band played a lot of classic material from their eponymous first album to material from ‘Agents of Fortune’, ‘Tyranny and Mutation’, and ‘Specters’. The band is still led by both original members Eric Bloom and Donald “Buck Dharma” Roeser along with guitarrist Richie Castellano, drummer Jules Radino, and bassist Kasim Sulton. Kasim has played bass on numerous classic albums such as ‘L’ by ‘Gongs’ Steve Hillage, and on Meat Loafs ‘Bat Out Of Hell’. Kasim has also famously worked with producer legend Todd Rundgren’s musical project ‘Utopia.

For every hit song the band performed, the audience cheered and sang along. Radio hits such as ‘Burnin’ For You’ and ‘Godzilla’ kept the audience on their feet throughout the night. They finished the night with the classic ‘(Don’t) Fear The Reaper’ which had the audience standing on their feet. The band is currently finishing up their North American tour but they will soon head to Europe to perform a couple music festivals in celebration of their 45th anniversary.
